King City High School’s new agriculture facility beginning to take shape

KING CITY — Construction crews recently finished pouring the foundation for King City High School’s new Future Farmers of America facility, which is taking shape at the former Mildred Street parking lot on the east end of the campus.

The facility will feature new areas for students to learn about agriculture, including classrooms and shops. The school’s FFA program was ranked third statewide in 2020.

The construction project was funded by a $20 million bond measure, which was passed in 2018 for South Monterey County Joint Union High School District, with a similar bond having gone toward renovating the Greenfield High School eastern parking lot.
